    Two out of three people in Miami are Latino. About half the Latino population is Cuban. In more recent years, Central and South Americans have settled in Miami. There are now significant numbers of Colombians, Nicaraguans, and Puerto Ricans residing in the Miami-Dade County area.
    The port of Miami is the busiest passenger cruise port in the world and one of the busiest container ports in the nation. More than half the cargo from Latin America and the Caribbean flows through this port, making Miami an important center for international trade.
